Has performed with: Los Angeles Symphonic Winds, Woodland Hills, CA, Steve Piazza; U.S. Air Force Band, Symphony Orchestra, Washington D.C. Member of Band and Orchestra and soloist, flutist with Woodwind Quintet for 8 years, toured throughout U.S., Canada and South America. Flute scholarship student at University of Redlands, CA. Nick McCrary Bassoon Instructor, Chamber Orchestra BassoonistNick studies bassoon performance at Kent State University. He is principal bassoon in the TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra in Avon Lake, Ohio, is contrabassoon in the Contemporary Youth Orchestra under the direction of Liza Grossman, second bassoon in the Kent State Orchestra, and is assistant second bassoon in the Kent State Wind Ensemble. McCrary has performed with Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra, Contemporary Youth Orchestra, the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Rocktopia, Melissa Etheridge, the Solon Symphony Orchestra, the Stow Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared in multiple theater pit productions. He has received Superior Ratings at OMEA solo and ensemble on solo bassoon (2017), and in the Lorain County Solo and Ensemble competition on solo bassoon (2016,2017). McCrary has performed in venues such as Playhouse Square and Severance Hall. McCrary studies bassoon, contrabassoon, and the fine art of reed making with Mark DeMio. McCrary enjoys his free time with yoga, friends, and good food. Ted Terhune Saxophone InstructorTed Terhune a native of Centerville Ohio, has been an active Educator and Performer in Northeast Ohio Since 2015. Mr. Terhune Holds his Bachelors in Music Education from Ohio University where he was a deans list recipient and studied classical and jazz saxophone with Dr. Matthew James, and Mr. Chris McDerment. While at Ohio, Ted was a performer with the Ohio University Wind Ensemble, and a featured soloist with the Ohio University Jazz Ensemble 1 and Jazz Combos. In addition Mr. Terhune was a member of the Ohio Paw Paw saxophone quartet. Currently Ted is a Band Director in Lorain City Schools at General Johnnie Wilson Middle School, and Lorain High School where he serves as assistant band director. He can also be found performing regularly with many local jazz ensembles such as the Lakeland Civic Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dave Sterner, and the Skatch Andersson Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Eric Dregne and Scott McKee. Ted has also studied with Bill Burns, Hal Melia, John Horne, and Mike Parkinson.
