TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra
We are a Community Orchestra located in Avon Lake in Lorain County, on the west side of Cleveland, OH and made up of members from intermediate to professional level ability. We enjoy creating and expressing orchestral music. We also collaborate with the TrueNorth Chorale and other soloists with multiple concerts throughout the year. Members come from all walks of life and include college students, accomplished adult amateurs and professionals.
The TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra makes its home in the far west side of Cleveland, OH in Lorain County. We rehearse on Thursday nights from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm at Bay United Methodist Church in Bay Village, OH.
We have produced and hosted concerts to raise awareness and funds for various causes throughout the years, such as cancer awareness, hunger, and various national crisis events honoring our fallen heroes and supporting those who suffer.

The TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra is always looking for competent, enthusiastic and hardworking musicians to join their mission. Interested parties please contact Rick Fortney at rfortney@tncarts.org or Joan Fortney for more information and to try out TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra. We invite any intermediate to advanced instrumentalists to audition to join the Chamber Orchestra.

The Chamber Orchestra presents a wide array of programs primarily focused on classical music, but many performances each year offer very unique programming. We aim to entertain a wide audience from all backgrounds. Highlights from each season include our annual Christmas, Palm Sunday, and Patriotic concerts with the TrueNorth Chorale. Whether it be your first classical concert, a social event with friends, to a family program where children's eyes and ears are amazed, the TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra has a concert for all!

About TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra
Symphonic music has been a part of TrueNorth Cultural Arts since its inception. For years appearing as the TrueNorth Symphony, the community orchestra is now known as the TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra. Musicians from around the northeast Ohio area collaborate for a season from September through June offering a wide variety of musical styles. Our goal is to educate, inspire, and move through the power of orchestral performance for the whole community.
The TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra performs solo concerts as well as concerts with the TrueNorth Chorale, Big Band, and other local arts organizations. The ensemble is made up of musicians from all backgrounds. Professionals, amateurs, and students from throughout the area join the TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra for a uniquely intimate ensemble. We offer many opportunities for musicians to be involved closely with administration. We invite any interested instrumentalists to contact us for the opportunity to be a part of our community orchestra!

A Community Orchestra
The TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra has performed such works as the Dvorak's Symphonies No.5 and 8, Beethoven's Egmont Overture and Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet and Violin Concerto. Additional works include Schumann's Symphony No.3, Debussy’s The Afternoon of a Faun, several works by Aaron Copland, and Corigliano’s Elegy. Other major works have been performed with the TrueNorth Chorale, such as Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream, Schubert's G Major Mass, and Ola Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass. We invite any intermediate to advanced instrumentalist to audition to join the Chamber Orchestra, rehearsing Wednesdays 7:15-9:30 pm., September through June.
