Andy Peng

Praised by The Daily Campus for his “incredibly deep feeling and resonance”, violinist Andy Peng is building a promising career as recitalist, chamber musician, and music educator. A native of Cleveland, Andy received his Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate at the University of Connecticut under the tutelage of Dr. Solomiya Ivakhiv. An experienced chamber and orchestral musician, Andy has performed across North America and Europe under acclaimed conductors including Peter Oundjian, Carl Topilow, and James Feddeck. With a passion for new music, Andy frequently programs recently written works, and has worked closely with composer Alishan Gezgin - a collaboration with whom led to the premiere of a new piano trio, performed in March 2018. Andy currently serves on faculty for violin and viola at Eastern Connecticut State University and as teaching artist for The Orchestra Program at Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland School of the Arts, and The Crescendo Orchestra Program.
